University closed Friday

Because of the approaching snowstorm, Fitchburg State University will be closed and classes canceled on Friday, Feb. 8. Saturday classes are also canceled.

The Campus Center at Hammond Hall will be open Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to midnight. The Gameroom at Hammond Hall will be open Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and may open Saturday and Sunday. Holmes Dining Commons will be open Friday for continental breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner will be served from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Standard weekend hours – brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. – will be in effect on Saturday and Sunday.

The Athletics and Recreation Center will be open Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Parking lots will be cleared and plowed in stages. If you have a car on campus, please observe the city of Fitchburg’s parking bans and procedures. Notices will be sent by email from Campus Police and information is always available at 978-665-3006.
